In the fall of 1998 there was an idea to "do something with Chess". Why? Well, two reasons: Become self employed, and to position myself on the ground floor of a growing activity. What better way to become financially self-sufficient than with Chess? Many months passed before the idea became A.G. CHESS Co. in the summer of 1999. This is a community based company providing Chess enthusiasts with local resources such as unique merchandise, books, instruction, Chess in the park, events, etc.

Personal objective: Become full-time self employed promoting the art of Chess.

Company objective: Provide Chess enthusiasts with resources on a community level. Tangible items such as caps, books, Chess sets, and ultimately intangibles such as CI classes, tournaments, events, etc.

I have been saying it for years that Chess "will be the biggest thing in America." As I continue to get my business off the ground, believe me when I say this: "I love doing this!"
